Ming watches, model by model

The collaboration with J.N. Shapiro of Los Angeles, and a row with no price because the archive page showed none on 20 September 2026, only the excluding-taxes suffix: a grade-2 titanium dial hand engine-turned by Shapiro and heat-coloured by Ming Thein, in the 38 mm steel case, 44.5 mm lug-to-lug, 10.9 mm thick, 100 m, domed sapphire front and rear with HyCeram indices inside the top crystal, on a Sellita SW210.M1 hand-wound with about 42 hours. Orders were paused with the waitlist open; delivery slots were filled through late 2027. Atelier Wen's Ancestra puts a hand-hammered silver and enamel dial on a Pequignet at $5,850, 38 mm and 11.3 mm, and shows the price.

The 600 m Ming in the 38 mm case, sold out with deliveries complete and marked as not to be produced again; the price was removed from the page, and a search snippet claiming CHF 4,950 was not adopted, so the row is unpriced. A Sellita SW300.M1 automatic with about 50 hours, 38 mm, 44.5 mm lug-to-lug, 12.8 mm thick, domed sapphire front and rear with double AR. Against the Uni it is the same case, movement and rating, differing in finish and strap. Vertex's M60 AquaLion D is the other 600 m watch in this data, GBP 2,375 before VAT at 40 mm and 14 mm; the Ming is 2 mm smaller and 1.2 mm thinner.

The second 37.09, and on the check date the home page still listed it In Stock while the product page said sold out with deliveries complete; the product page wins, and its price slot was empty. The sheet matches the Bluefin: SW300.M1 automatic, about 50 hours, 38 mm, 44.5 mm lug-to-lug, 12.8 mm thick, 600 m, with lumed indices inside the top crystal and Super-LumiNova X1 on a sapphire dial, in matte-brushed steel with DLC, on moulded FKM rubber. The DLC and the rubber are what separate it from the Bluefin. Tudor's Pelagos 39 is $5,625 at 39 mm, 11.8 mm and 200 m; Sinn's U50 is $3,440 at 500 m. Neither puts the indices in the glass.

The GMT in the 40 mm case, an edition of 200, sold out with production complete and no price on the page: a Sellita for MING 330.M2 automatic GMT, about 50 hours, 40 mm, 47.8 mm lug-to-lug, 10.33 mm thick, 100 m, box sapphire front and rear with the top crystal laser-engraved with luminous material, a blue and orange 24-hour ring and a red DST indicator. Against the 37.11 Odyssey it is 2 mm larger, 2.27 mm thinner, rated to 100 m rather than 300, and unpriced where the Odyssey shows CHF 5,500. Zelos's Spearfish Dual Time is $2,199 in titanium at 40 mm, 47 mm and 10 mm on a Sellita SW300 with a module.

One of the two Mings with a price on the page, CHF 5,500 excluding taxes, sold out with a waitlist: a Sellita SW330.M2 automatic GMT, about 50 hours, with an internal bidirectional 24-hour rotating dial, in brushed grade 2 titanium, 38 mm, 44.5 mm lug-to-lug, 12.6 mm thick, 300 m, domed sapphire front and rear, on the universal titanium bracelet. It is the 37.09 case in titanium, 0.2 mm thinner, with a GMT and 300 m in place of 600. Longines' Spirit Zulu Time is $3,550 at 39 mm on the ETA-based L844; Serica's 8315-1 is $2,450 with a COSC certificate at 12.3 mm. The Ming's case for the money is the titanium, the 300 m and the dial.

The chronograph, and the dearer of the two priced rows at CHF 6,250 excluding taxes, sold out with a waitlist offered: a Sellita SW562.M1 hand-wound chronograph, 40 mm, 47.8 mm lug-to-lug, 11.85 mm thick, 100 m, sapphire front and rear with the indices laser-cut into the top crystal. The high-end ranking places Ming fifth on this watch. Against the 57.05 Comet it is the same case 1.52 mm thicker with a chronograph in place of the GMT. Massena LAB's Uni-Racer is $3,495 on a Sellita SW510 M at 39 mm and 9 mm; Farer's Libre is $2,095 on the SW510M; both are two-pusher hand-wounds, and the Ming is the customised one with the lume in the glass.

The reference point above everything else, and a row whose figure needs a caveat: the Series 2 page shows no price, and the CHF 43,500 in the table is the Series 3 figure from a search result, not fetched from the maker. Agenhor's Agengraphe Cal. 6361.M1, a manual-winding chronograph, in a 34-part grade 5 titanium case, 41.5 mm, 14.2 mm thick, 22 mm lug, 50 m, with HyCeram lume filling the dial. Lug-to-lug is not published; the run is sold out and will not be repeated. Formex's Aria is $7,900 on the FX01 manufacture micro-rotor at 40 mm and 6.9 mm; Breitling's Navitimer B01 is $10,300 at 41 mm. Neither is an Agengraphe, and that is the argument.
