Atelier Wen was founded in 2018 by two Frenchmen, Robin and Wilfried, with an office on Connaught Road Central in Hong Kong and design and manufacturing coordinated from Beijing. The stated purpose is a case for high-end Chinese craft, and the about page is specific about who does it: guilloché is hand-turned in Cheng Yucai's workshop and grand feu enamel is fired in Kong Lingjun's, both in Beijing. Movements come from Pequignet in France, Dandong in China and Girard-Perregaux in Switzerland, by model. The site prices in Hong Kong dollars; there is a retailer network, and Massena LAB sells the Inflection Shuò in the United States. The warranty is 5 years from delivery and includes shipping to and from the service partner.
Three things the spec sheets settle. Every case is 904L steel except the two Inflections, which are 99.9% tantalum. Every model is 100 m under a double-domed sapphire with a 5- or 10-layer anti-reflective coating, and every lug is 22 mm except the 38 mm Ancestra's 20 mm. The dials are the price ladder: the Millésime carries stone, the Perception v3 hand-turned guilloché, the Ancestra hammered silver under fumé enamel, and the Inflection grand feu enamel on silver, with the Shuò edition moving to solid 18k gold under hand tremblage. Atelier Wen names the workshop behind both the guilloché and the enamel, which in this data set is rarer than the tantalum.

The Atelier Wen most people mean, HKD 37,750, and the cheapest hand-turned guilloché dial on this site: écailles de poisson cut in Cheng Yucai's workshop. 40 mm, 47 mm lug to lug, 10.4 mm thick, 100 m, 904L steel on a 904L bracelet with a patent-pending micro-adjust, FKM rubber as an option, on a customised Pequignet EPM03 at chronometer grade with 65 hours, under a 10-layer anti-reflective box sapphire with a full exhibition back. Not limited, but allocated: the first 300 were spoken for and new orders deliver from December 2026. The original Perception at HKD 25,800 is sold out. The Millésime is 1 mm thinner and HKD 9,750 less; the difference is the dial and the movement.

The dress watch, HKD 45,900, and the only current model under 40 mm: 38 mm, 46 mm lug to lug, 11.3 mm thick, 100 m, 904L steel, 20 mm lug, on hand-stitched Epsom or Zermatt leather. The dial is hand-hammered 925 silver under grand feu fumé enamel from Kong Lingjun's workshop, with Chinese calligraphy or Arabic numerals, on the same customised Pequignet EPM03 as the Perception v3, 65 hours, rated at plus or minus 2 seconds a day on average. Domed sapphire front and back; 9.05 mm without them. The launch-edition order window had closed at check. Against the Perception v3 the HKD 8,150 buys enamel over guilloché, 2 mm less case and 0.9 mm more thickness.

The tantalum watch, HKD 233,900 on the integrated bracelet, and the reason the range's ceiling is where it is: 99.9% pure tantalum case and bracelet, 22/18 mm with a 4-position micro-adjust; the FKM sailcloth variant showed at HKD 155,500 on the feed. 40 mm, 45 mm lug to lug, 10.2 mm thick, 100 m, screw-down crown, on a customised Girard-Perregaux GP03300 with 48 hours. Dials are grand feu enamel on 925 silver by Kong Lingjun's workshop; green is limited to 30. 100 pieces a year, 50% deposit, sold out at check with dispatch stated for Q4 2026. The Inflection with a solid 18k gold dial, rose or white, hand-finished in tremblage, in an edition of 50 with Massena LAB, HKD 326,300 on Atelier Wen's own feed, where it was listed in stock at check. Massena LAB's page showed it sold out at USD 44,100, and that is the only dollar figure anywhere in the range; it is the retailer's price, not the maker's. The sheet is the Inflection's: 40 mm, 45 mm lug to lug, 10.2 mm thick, 100 m, tantalum bracelet or FKM sailcloth, customised GP03300. Against the standard Inflection the HKD 92,400 is the gold and the tremblage, and the edition size against 100 a year.
Atelier Wen is for the buyer who wants a hand-cut guilloché or grand feu enamel dial with the maker's name on it, will pay in Hong Kong dollars, and can wait for an allocation. At 45 to 47 mm lug to lug the 40 mm models fit the 6.75 to 7.5 inch wrist; the 38 mm Ancestra at 46 mm fits the same wrist rather than a smaller one. Look elsewhere if you need a watch from stock, since every model sells in a window and both Inflections were sold out at check; if the origin matters more than the artisan, since these are made in China and say so; if you want a Swiss movement below the Inflection, since the Perception runs a French Pequignet and the Millésime a Dandong; or if the budget is a Perception's and the wrist is under 6.5 inches, where the 47 mm lug to lug is long.
