Ophion watches, model by model

Ophion has 3 models, EUR 1,305 at launch for the OPH 960 to EUR 3,975 on the order page for the OPH 411 Vesper, all sold in small pre-order batches from Madrid. The Vesper's micro-rotor is a Schwarz Etienne ASE 200 with 86 hours, and the brand's pages give 3 different prices for the range, which this guide sets out once.

Checked 19 September 2026 · list prices on the maker's site that day unless marked street

Ophion is a Madrid independent, founded in 2015, that debuted with the OPH 960, a hand-wound watch with a double barrel and 5 days of reserve, and now sells the OPH 411 Vesper on a Schwarz Etienne micro-rotor and the OPH 786 Vélos on a custom hand-wound calibre with proprietary bridges. Everything is sold by pre-order from the order page, in small batches, with reservations taken between runs; The Limited Edition in the UK is the retailer named. The brand's own pages do not say where the watches are assembled and state no warranty. Monochrome, in 2023, named the Vesper's case maker as Voutilainen-Cattin SA and its dial maker as Estima AG, both Swiss, and that is the only origin information on record.

The prices need stating once, plainly. On 19 September 2026 the order page listed the Vesper at EUR 3,975 and the Vélos at EUR 3,420 for Radial Blue and EUR 3,620 for the guilloché dials. The Vélos's own spec page still showed EUR 1,890 to 2,190 and a sold-out notice. Monochrome quoted EUR 7,950 for the Vesper in November 2023. The OPH 960 shows no current price at all; SJX quoted EUR 1,305 before taxes at its 2015 launch, and that is the figure in the table. This guide uses the order-page figures as current and treats the rest as history, and a buyer should confirm the number with the brand before paying a deposit.

Two things the spec sheets settle and two they do not. Every case is 316L steel, hand-polished, under a domed sapphire with a flat sapphire back, and every model is a dress watch under 11.5 mm thick. No page publishes a lug-to-lug or a water-resistance rating, for any model, so those columns are blank rather than guessed.

Read the table by movement, since each model has its own. The OPH 960, 42.9 mm, runs a 13¼-line hand-wound with 2 barrels and 5 days. The OPH 786 Vélos, 38.5 mm, runs a hand-wound custom calibre on a Technotime/Soprod base with Ophion's bridges and hand-hammered decoration. The OPH 411 Vesper, 39 mm, runs the Schwarz Etienne ASE 200 micro-rotor automatic, 3 Hz, 86 hours, with stop seconds. The two current models are both 10.35 to 11.45 mm thick; the 960's 42.9 mm is 3.9 and 4.4 mm more than the Vesper and the Vélos, and its 42 mm bezel is the number the page leads with.

The Ophion to buy, and at EUR 3,975 on the order page the cheapest Schwarz Etienne micro-rotor in this data by a wide margin: the ASE 200, 3 Hz, 86 hours, stop seconds, behind a flat sapphire back. 39 mm, 11.45 mm thick, 22 mm lug, 316L steel hand-polished with welded teardrop lugs from Voutilainen-Cattin SA, under a domed sapphire with ARDUR coating, on handmade leather or alligator. Black, navy, salmon and silver dials; a turquoise launch edition limited to 50. Water resistance and lug to lug are not stated. The Vélos is EUR 355 less for a hand-wound; the Formex Aria at $7,900 is the next micro-rotor here, on a Horage FX01 at 6.9 mm.

Who it is for

Ophion is for the buyer who wants a Schwarz Etienne micro-rotor or a 5-day hand-wound in a hand-polished steel dress case for under EUR 4,000, and who will pre-order without a published lug to lug, a water-resistance rating, an assembly statement or a warranty. The 38.5 and 39 mm cases suit the 6.5 to 7.25 inch wrist on diameter alone, and that is all the sheet gives. Look elsewhere if you want the paperwork, since Fears, Serica and Formex publish all four; if you want the watch this month, since batches are small and the 960 was sold out at check; or if you want to swim in it, since no Ophion states a depth rating.

Where it sits against the field

On movement the Vesper stands alone under EUR 4,000: the only other micro-rotors in this data are the Baltic MR Classic at €545 on a Hangzhou CAL5000a and the Formex Aria at $7,900 on Horage's FX01, so Ophion sits between a Chinese calibre at €545 and a Swiss manufacture one at $7,900, and this site does not convert either. On hand-wound dress watches in euros, the Baltic Prismic at €990 and Prismic Stone at €1,450 run a Peseux 7001 and a La Joux-Perret D100 at 9.2 mm in 36 mm, and the Furlan Marri Disco Volante at CHF 2,500 runs the Peseux in 38 mm; none has bridges of its own, which is what the Vélos's EUR 3,620 buys. Above it, the Fears Brunswick 38 at GBP 2,875 on a La Joux-Perret D100 publishes a lug to lug, a water rating and a British assembly claim, and the Massena LAB Uni-Racer at $3,495 states its Sellita grade. Ophion's movements are the better story; the rivals' spec sheets are the fuller ones.
