Straum is an Oslo brand, founded in 2021 by two Norwegian industrial designers, Lasse Roxrud Farstad and Øystein Helle Husby, and its product pages say Swiss Made and designed in Norway. It sells direct from its own site, priced in kroner, and through Time+Tide and Windup Watch Shop, with collaboration editions for Fratello and Time+Tide. Fulfilment is from Norway and the United States. The warranty is 2 years. The site sets no dollar price, so every figure on this page is in NOK as the maker shows it.
The catalogue is one case in 2 sizes and 3 metals. The Jan Mayen is 38.7 mm in 316L steel or grade 5 titanium, with a limited basalt-dial edition; the Frozen Metal is the titanium case with a galvanic frosted dial; the Expedition is a 38.2 mm hardened-titanium field watch with a date. Behind them is the Rastarkalv, a Damascus-steel watch on a Sellita SW200-1 with 47 numbered dials cut from a 3,300-year-old bog root, NOK 20,400 and sold out, the legacy Sellita line alongside the Opphav. Its case dimensions are not published, so it is not in the table.
Three things the spec sheets settle. Every current model runs a La Joux-Perret automatic with 68 hours of reserve: the G101 without a date on the Jan Mayen and Frozen Metal, the G100 with a date on the Expedition. Every case is 45.7 mm lug to lug, 100 m, under a double-domed sapphire with inner anti-reflective coating, and every lug is 24.8 mm wide tapering to 18 mm at the buckle, which rules out most third-party straps. The kroner are the first thing a buyer outside Norway has to get past; the ship dates are the second, and the pages state both.

Read the table by metal and then by ship date. Steel is the Jan Mayen at NOK 25,500 on the bracelet, ships November 2026. Titanium is the Jan Mayen Titanium at NOK 32,000 and the Frozen Metal at NOK 33,500 on the bracelet, both December 2026, and the Expedition at NOK 31,000 on rubber, March 2027 and capped at 200. The basalt edition sits between them at NOK 28,000 with most of its dial colours already gone. Thickness is 11.5 mm on every 38.7 mm case and 11 mm on the Expedition; the brand also quotes the figure without the crystal, 9.7 mm on the steel Jan Mayen and 10.3 mm on the Expedition, and it is the first figure a buyer should ignore.

The Jan Mayen with a dial cut from Jan Mayen basalt over a red sunburst base, NOK 28,000, a limited edition on the G101. The maker's feed states 38.7 mm and nothing else the table needs, so lug to lug, thickness, water resistance and case metal appear as blanks here rather than as borrowed figures from the steel model. Radiant Mist and Volcanic Grey were sold out at check; Magma Red remained. Against the standard steel Jan Mayen the NOK 2,500 is the stone. Anyone who wants the full sheet before paying should ask Straum for it, since the product page does not carry one.

The ceiling of the range at NOK 33,500 on the titanium bracelet, NOK 29,500 on rubber, and the one whose dial does the work: a galvanic frosted reverse-fumé finish with Frostbite Blue PVD hands. Grade 5 titanium, 38.7 mm, 45.7 mm lug to lug, 11.5 mm thick, 100 m, La Joux-Perret G101 in Soigné grade, 68 hours, ships December 2026. It is the only Straum whose page names a movement grade. The Jan Mayen Titanium lists at NOK 32,000, so the frosted dial and the movement grade cost NOK 1,500 on the bracelet; on rubber both feeds run lower and the gap depends on the band. The Expedition adds a date and a hardened case for less.
Straum is for the buyer who wants a Swiss Made Norwegian design on a La Joux-Perret movement in a sub-39 mm case and can wait until next year for it. At 45.7 mm lug to lug every model fits the 6.5 to 7.25 inch wrist, and the 38.2 mm Expedition fits a little under that. Look elsewhere if you need the watch before November 2026, since nothing ships sooner; if you want a dollar or euro price, since straum.co shows kroner and the retailers set their own; if you swap straps, since 24.8 mm lugs take almost nothing off the shelf; or if you want a date on a Jan Mayen, which only the Expedition has.

The comparison is on the sheet rather than the price, because Straum sets no dollar figure and this site does not convert.
